SOFIA

Sofia Bejblíková is an artist from Slovakia, currently living in Prague, Czech Republic. Her artwork focuses on painting women's bodies, often depicting bodies without heads, hands and feet. She often uses acrylic, watercolour, markers and pastels and her work is known for its bold color palette and playful style.

From a young age, she has been fascinated by what the female body can do. She is trying to highlight its ability to work overtime, exercise, carry a new life, take care of the household and still be sexy and beautiful. Without heads and limbs, she focuses on essential elements of femininity, creating universal references and raising questions about the perception and value of the female body in society.

At the same time, she tries to remove social and cultural stereotypes associated with beauty and the female body. Her works serve as a platform to overcome these stereotypes and encourage women to value and love their bodies regardless of whether they meet the "ideal" standards of beauty. Her paintings provide the viewer with an experience that evokes emotion and provokes thought.
